Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has inaugurated a new 91-metre pedestrian and bicycle bridge on Sheikh Rashid Street, connecting Al Mankhool and Al Jafiliya. The bridge is expected to serve over 22,000 people daily, enhancing traffic safety and promoting sustainable mobility.

Inspired by Dubai’s maritime heritage — echoing the design of diving and commercial vessels — the bridge complements the nearby Sheikh Rashid Tunnel. It is equipped with elevators and stairs on both ends, ensuring full accessibility for people of determination and the general public.

This initiative is part of RTA’s broader strategy to encourage walking and cycling while supporting Dubai’s vision of a safe, inclusive, and connected urban environment.
