Abu Dhabi Police have appointed Captain Hagar Rashid Al Naeemi, a digital crime analyst, to work as a liaison officer at Interpol’s Innovation Centre in Singapore Captain. Over the next 3 years, Captain Hagar is expected to gain practical experience in cybercrime analysis on a global scale.
Captain Hagar is the first Emirati police officer from the Middle East to specialize in the field of virtual and augmented reality, and the first female police officer from Abu Dhabi Police working for Interpol.
Interpol’s Innovation Centre is working on developing the latest ways to combat international crime, with academics, analysts and international law enforcement staff, as well as updating security techniques through the new age of technology, by specialists sharing expertise.
Captain Hagar holds a Master of Diplomacy with honors and a bachelor’s degree in information systems management. She started her career by checking electronic criminal records and later became the Director of the International Training Branch at the Centre for International Participations and Cooperation. She also served as Head of the Virtual Training Department at the Saif Bin Zayed Academy for Police and Security Sciences. She has also received numerous awards, including the Commander-in-Chief’s Award for best police officer in the technical field.
Major General Thani Batti Al Shamsi, director of the Saif bin Zayed Academy for Police and Security Sciences, expressed the appreciation for Abu Dhabi Police with Captain Hagar joining Interpol.
