Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has unveiled plans for a new two-lane bridge in Nad Al Sheba, designed to dramatically cut travel time and ease congestion in one of the city’s growing residential areas.

Connecting traffic from Dubai-Al Ain Road, the bridge will accommodate up to 2,600 vehicles per hour and reduce travel time from six minutes to just one — an 83% improvement.

Construction is set to begin at the end of 2025, with the bridge expected to open by late 2026. Once completed, the project will significantly improve accessibility for the 30,000+ residents of Nad Al Sheba and streamline access points in and out of the community.

This development is part of a broader RTA initiative to enhance infrastructure in the area. Previous upgrades have included converting a junction into a roundabout, adding new entry/exit points from Meydan Street, and implementing comprehensive traffic solutions around local schools like Repton School and Al Khaleej International School, which serve nearly 10,000 students.

With additional parking facilities and safer pick-up/drop-off zones, the wider plan is already easing congestion and improving safety across the district — and the new bridge is expected to take that progress even further.
