Dubai International (DXB) anticipates a significant rise in travel starting July 6 until July 17 as families leave for the summer holidays Airport authorities have announced some restrictions for non-passengers due to an anticipated total of 3.3 million guests passing through its terminals, with 914,000 travellers set to depart from DXB during this period.
Dubai based, Emirates airlines advise travellers to adhere to key airport timings and complete immigration procedures at least 1.5 hours before departure to avoid delays and crowding at airport. Additionally, passengers should prepare for heavier traffic on airport roads, longer queues at immigration, and extended travel times between concourses and boarding gates.
Emirates has introduced several measures to facilitate smooth travel experiences:
1. Emirates Home Check-In Service: Available in Dubai and Sharjah, this service allows passengers to complete check-in at home. Agents then transport their luggage to the flight, benefiting First Class passengers and Platinum Skywards members only, with bookings required 24 hours before departure.
2. Emirates App and Website: Passengers can book and change flights, download digital boarding passes, receive flight notifications, and pre-purchase seats and baggage allowances. Web and app check-in opens 48 hours prior to departure.
3. Early Luggage Drop: Passengers can drop off luggage the night before departure at DXB for free, 24 hours before departure, or 12 hours before departure if flying to the US, allowing early check-in and a smoother airport experience.
4. Ajman Central Bus Terminal Check-In: Northern Emirates travellers can check in at Ajman Central Bus Terminal 24 to 4 hours before flights. Customers can check in anytime, 24 hours a day.
