Received a Salik fine and weren’t aware? You can now dispute these fines within 13 months from the violation issuance date. This grace period is part of Salik’s latest terms and conditions, which have been updated recently. Understanding these changes is crucial as they introduce new rules for disputing fines and managing inactive Salik accounts.

1. Dispute Your Salik Violation Quickly: You can dispute a toll violation only if it has been posted to your traffic file within the last 13 months from the violation issuance date.

2. Insufficient Balance – 50 Dhs Fine: If you have an insufficient balance, you must top up your Salik account within five business days of crossing a toll. Failure to do so will result in a fine of Dh50 for every day that you pass under a toll gate.

3. Unregistered Plate – 100-400 Dhs Fine: If your car does not have a registered Salik tag and you drive through a toll gate, you will have 10 business days from the date of the first trip to register for a Salik tag. Failing to do so will result in the following fines:
.Dh100 for the first violation after 10 days.
.Dh200 for the second violation.
.Dh400 for each subsequent violation.

4. Salik Fines Capped at 10,000 Dhs Maximum: The maximum number of fines imposed per vehicle for Salik violations will not exceed Dh10,000 in a year.

5. Keep Your Salik Account Active: If you don’t regularly use Salik toll gates or have left the country without deactivating your Salik account, dormant accounts can get deactivated, resulting in the loss of any remaining balance.
