The Sharjah Press Club, which operates under the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, organized field visits for students in the 6th edition of the “Ithmaar” Media training programme to CNN Arabic and the Arabian Radio Network. These visits aimed to familiarize students, aged 10-17, about the various roles in the newsroom and specialised programmes, providing a live educational experience in the media industry.
Trainees learned about various newsroom roles and specialized programs, gaining insights into preparing news radio and television reports. This hands-on experience with prominent national and international media institutions helped enhance their skills and understanding of media processes.
The visits are a crucial part of the “Ithmaar” programme, designed to offer innovative educational experiences alongside theoretical workshops to develop trainees’ skills and self-confidence. They aim to discover the trainees’ professional passions and equip them with the necessary tools for future success, aligning with the programme’s objectives of preparing a generation capable of navigating rapid developments in the media field.
Students expressed excitement and enthusiasm, appreciating the programme’s role in building their critical thinking, analytical skills, and communication abilities. The Ithmaar programme also includes workshops on security media, public speaking, audio recording, podcast creation, and photography skills.
