The 24th International Mother Teresa Awards took place on the 26th of August, 2024, at Millennium Plaza Dubai. Organized by the All-India Minority and Weaker Sections Council, the event celebrated Mother Teresa’s 114th birth anniversary by honouring individuals from various fields for their significant contributions.
This was the second time the event was held outside India, with both international ceremonies taking place in Dubai. The awards, established after Mother Teresa’s death in 1997, recognise exceptional individuals across sectors such as education, science, culture, sports, social work, medicine, industry, and politics.
During the event, there was a cake-cutting ceremony in Mother Teresa’s representative colours, blue and white, and a documentary screening about her life. Notable actor and singer, Irka Bochenko paid tribute to Mother Teresa through a song, and renowned painter Jogen Chowdhury presented the committee with a drawing of Mother Teresa.
Mr. Tapan Roy, Vice Chairman of the Mother Teresa Award Committee, along with Mr. Lalit Sharma, organized and conducted the program, which was presented and anchored by Mr. Joseph Chacko. The event was attended by Committee Chairman Dr. T.H. Ireland, Chief Patron Mr. Rajeev Sabrawal, dignitaries like Dr. Ashok Poddar, Mr. Imran Zaki, Mr. S. Khemka, and media personality Ms. Manju Ramanan, co-founder and CEO of ALIGN ME.Notable winners include:
