The UAE National Olympic Committee has announced the delegation representing the country at the Summer Olympics in Paris 2024. The UAE will have 15 athletes, supported by 20 technical and administrative staff, who will compete across various disciplines including equestrian, judo, swimming, cycling, and athletics. These athletes are currently in Paris, diligently preparing for the Games scheduled from July 26 to August 11.
Equestrian Omar Al Marzouqi, who won silver medal in individual when he was only 15 years old, will serve as the country’s flag-bearer during the Opening Ceremony.
the UAE National Olympic Committee unveiled the uniforms designed for the Emirati Olympians. Rawdha Al Shaafar, a founder from A Friend of Mine by Xpoze, highlighted the design’s modern simplicity. “The design is modern and simple at the same time. The color white was chosen for its strength, peace, and purity. This colour reflects a new beginning that the athletes will embark on.
“As for the text, we added ‘United Arab Emirates’ in red (in Arabic) to represent our country, symbolising courage and giving athletes a sense of pride while wearing the attire.” She added.
During the Paris Olympics, the UAE will host the ‘Emirati House,’ showcasing the nation’s heritage and offering visitors a taste of Emirati hospitality. Open from July 27 to August 10, from 10am to 8pm (Paris time), the ‘Emirati House’ will feature a variety of activities and events, welcoming all with free admission.
