Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is set to launch a new entry and exit point to Al Warqa directly from Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road in early June. The upgrade is expected to cut travel time by 80%—from 20 minutes to just 3.5 minutes—and reduce trip distance from 5.7 km to 1.5 km, improving capacity by 5,000 vehicles per hour.

The project is part of a broader development plan to upgrade internal roads in Al Warqa 1, 3, and 4. These include an 8 km network of new roads, pedestrian walkways, parking spaces, and over 23 km of cycling tracks aimed at enhancing sustainable mobility and connectivity.

Street 13 in Al Warqa 1 has also undergone enhancements to better serve residents and schools. Around the School of Research Science and GEMS Royal Dubai School, 150 additional parking spaces and improved entry and exit points have eased congestion by 35–50%.

Future works will convert roundabouts in Al Warqa 1 into signalised junctions with smart traffic lights, boosting traffic flow by 30%. These upgrades, scheduled for completion by year-end, align with Dubai’s vision for a modern, smart city that supports sustainable living and population growth.

RTA’s approach includes community engagement sessions, where residents share feedback to help shape infrastructure plans. These sessions ensure developments reflect local needs, improve quality of life, and create a more connected, accessible, and efficient urban environment.
