As we’ve entered the month of July, here’s a few rules and changes to be aware of:

  1. Paid Parking in Dubai Mall- parts of the parking in Dubai mall will implement the paid parking system. It will be free for the first 4-6 hours, depending on the day of the week. After that, an hourly salik system ensues.

  2. Expanded Parking in 6 Dubai Areas- 6 neighbourhoods in Dubai will expand their paid parking spaces. New spots will be available from 8 AM to 10 PM daily. The system should be fully operational by the end of the month.

  3. Emiratisation Compliance Checks- Private firms with more than 50 employees must meet Emiratisation targets, increasing by 1% of last year’s target. Starting July, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation will begin verifying the level of compliance among companies, with fines of Dh8,000 per Emirati not hired, increasing by Dh1,000 each year until 2026.

  4. Health Insurance Coverage Expanded- Insurance holders in Daman can access better hospitals in Abu Dhabi while keeping their usual plan, however they will face higher premiums and co-payments.

  5. Licenses for Influencers– Social media influencers promoting without a license will face fines up to Dh10,000 and potential company closure. Licenses can be obtained from the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, with a cost of Dh1,250 for individuals and Dh5,000 for companies.

  6. Ajman Building Classification- Ajman residents can access information on their building’s standards and regulations. In the next 3 months, buildings will be classified according to international criteria, with results displayed in an electronic system for full transparency.
