The Ministry of Community Development has launched a unified digital system to streamline the approval of parking permits for people of determination between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. This initiative supports the UAE’s goals of sustainability and digital transformation by simplifying access to public facilities for people with determination, thereby enhancing their quality of life.
The new system allows individuals to use designated parking spaces in both Abu Dhabi and Dubai without needing paper permits. People of determination from other emirates who have valid permits issued by their local authorities can also benefit from this initiative when visiting Abu Dhabi.
This project was implemented in partnership with the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination, Abu Dhabi Police, Dubai Police, Abu Dhabi Mobility, Dubai Roads and Transport Authority, the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority, the Department of Government Enablement – Abu Dhabi, and Parkin.
By creating a unified database, the project aims to improve the integration and cooperation between various government entities, enhancing service efficiency and user experience. The shift to digital permits stored on smartphones or other devices underscores the UAE’s commitment to innovative solutions, making travel and access to facilities more convenient and flexible for people of determination.
