The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has announced that Mashreq Metro Station will now be renamed.
Formerly known as Sharaf DG until 2020, subsequently as Mashreq, the station between Mall of the Emirates and Dubai Internet City will now be called InsuranceMarket Metro Station. The new name will be accompanied by the InsuranceMarket mascot, Alfred.
From September to November 2024, the RTA will update the station’s name on all signage, including external and internal directional signs. The new name will also be reflected in the smart systems and RTA’s public transport apps, as well as in onboard audio announcements made before and upon arriving at the station.
