Taking the bus is constantly exciting, filled with a cast of characters that make every trip unique. While most of us are average joes and janes, and we don’t stick out, here are a few that actually do: –

1. The Personal Space Invader
Picture this: the bus is empty, yet someone chooses to sit right next to you. They might even start mimicking your movements, creating an oddly unsettling experience. Whether it’s coincidence or something more intentional, these people know how to make a commute memorable in the weirdest way.

2. The Human Pretzel
I understand, sleep deprivation is hard to deal with, but some of them… the way they sleep, is beyond imaginable. You can’t help but wonder if they’d be better off as contortionist. Their flexibility is both fascinating and a little alarming.

3. The one that acts like they own the place
Legs up on a different seat, bag on another. The four-seater belongs to them as though they tapped their nol cards for all 4 seats. They have a knack for turning a public space into their personal lounge.

 4. That one Couple
Imagine PDA on steroids; these couples take it to another level. They seem to forget they’re in a public space, acting like they’re invisible. Jeez, get a room.

5. The Compartment Confounders
Widely understood by most, the few front row seats are reserved for women, however some men either miss the memo or choose to ignore it. Their presence in the women’s section often sparks irritation among the rest.

6. The Loudmouths
Whether they’re having an intense phone conversation or chatting with a fellow passenger, these individuals, with no concept of an “inside voice”, make sure to let the world know about their business.

7. The “Oblivious” Rebels
These are the ones that break the rules on the bus, whether that’s eating on the bus, or not scanning their nol cards. While some might truly be unaware, others try acting like they never knew the rules.

8. The Odour-Philes
There’s always that one person who boards the bus whose personal hygiene is out the window. There’s a chance that this group is attracted to their own pheromones as they seem immune to the concept of deodorant, creating a challenge for everyone else to breathe normally in the bus.

9. The Glued-To-The-Phone
Glued to their screens, these passengers are so engrossed in their digital world that they sometimes forget their own stop. Understandably, trips are at times boring, but it might be a good idea to look up and check where you are at times.

10. The Silent Judges
They love to scrutinize everything and everyone – from your outfit to your choice of seat. The love staring at you with their disapproving glances making your simple bus ride into a nerve-wracking experience.
