The UAE Cybersecurity Council (CSC) has officially released the country’s first comprehensive Drone Cybersecurity Guidelines, a major step toward securing one of the most dynamic areas of modern technology.

Developed in partnership with Reach Digital—a digital transformation arm of Reach Group—and Shieldworkz, a firm specializing in cybersecurity for operational technology (OT), IoT, and drone systems, this initiative marks a bold move to future-proof the nation’s skies.

“With drones being deployed across critical sectors like agriculture, logistics, and environmental monitoring, safeguarding airspace and data integrity is no longer optional,” said Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of UAE Cybersecurity. “These new guidelines ensure government, commercial, and industrial UAV operations meet global cybersecurity standards.”

The guidelines are part of the UAE’s broader ambition to become a global leader in innovation and secure digital transformation. As drone usage expands, so too does the need for resilient systems that protect against growing cyber threats.

“This is about more than just protecting devices—it’s about building trust in the UAE’s digital infrastructure,” said Malik Melhem, CEO of Reach Group. “Through this collaboration with CSC and Shieldworkz, we’re reinforcing the UAE’s readiness to secure emerging technologies.”

As the nation continues to pioneer safe and intelligent drone integration, these guidelines will play a key role in protecting both national airspace and cyber ecosystems.
