As Breast Cancer Awareness Month approaches, the Pink Caravan (PC), an annual initiative by Friends of Cancer Patients (FOCP), will offer free breast cancer screenings and awareness sessions throughout October. The campaign, themed ‘Powered by You,’ is dedicated to supporting the fight against breast cancer across the UAE. It encourages individuals, as well as public and private sectors, to access and promote these services, stressing the importance of early detection and fostering a culture of healthy living.
Aisha Al Mulla, Director of FOCP, emphasized, “The fight against breast cancer is a collective responsibility that extends beyond the healthcare sector. Public and private sector partnerships are essential in spreading the message of early detection, providing critical resources to patients, and ensuring that awareness campaigns have a broad reach. Everyone—companies, institutions, and individuals—has a role to play in this mission.”
FOCP urges companies and institutions to actively support Pink Caravan’s efforts by participating in various initiatives. Corporate involvement options include booking a mobile clinic to provide free screenings for female employees or organizing a ‘Pink Caravan Corporate Wellness Day,’ which offers mammogram screenings and educational sessions.
The Pink Caravan allows companies to book a Mobile Clinic to deliver free mammogram screenings for up to 20 female employees aged 40 and above and clinical breast examinations for 60 female employees aged 20 and above. Additionally, the Pink Caravan Corporate Wellness Day targets staff from both private and government sectors, offering a series of virtual seminars along with vouchers for mammogram screenings and clinical examinations for 60 female employees aged 20 and older.
