A.R. Rahman Set to Perform This Winter; Here’s All You Need to Know

On the 2nd of November 2024, the legendary musician, A.R. Rahman, will grace the stage for a truly unique and memorable performance in the UAE. Known worldwide for his iconic melodies that carry emotional depth and cultural richness, Rahman will captivate and enthral all who attend.

Attendees can expect an evening filled with musical brilliance and entertainment as A.R. Rahman takes them on a journey through his vast repertoire of hits. From soul-stirring ballads to energetic anthems, Rahman’s music transcends genres and cultures, uniting audiences in a shared experience of joy and emotion. This concert promises to be a celebration of music and culture, bringing together people from all walks of life to experience the magic of A.R. Rahman Live in Concert.

The concert will be hosted at the prestigious Etihad Arena on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. Doors open at 6:30 PM, with the show kicking off at 8:00 PM, ensuring ample time to settle in. Tickets start at 299 Dhs.


Since the concert is on the horizon, here are a few songs to listen to in preparation for the concert:

  1. Dil hai Chotasa- A charming and nostalgic song, “Dil Hai Chotasa” was featured in the 1992 Tamil film Roja. With its gentle melody and soothing vocals, this classic was composed by the star, capturing the innocence and simplicity of youthful dreams and aspirations.

  2. Oh Raaya- One of his newer releases, this song is a new fan favourite, as the song is also featured in the new movie Rayaan. The newly released track explores themes of love and longing, encapsulating a profound sense of yearning and the aspiration to overcome life’s challenges, all whilst being soothing.

  3. Tere Bina- a personal favourite, this Hindi song was released in 2006 and then used in the 2007 Hindi film Guru. It was composed by A. R. Rahman, performed by Rahman, Murtuza Khan, Quadir Khan and Chinmayi and written by Gulzar. It is a magical love ballad composed in sufi style of music.

  4. Urvasi Urvasi- This is a vibrant and infectious song composed by A.R. Rahman for the 1994 Tamil film Kadhalan. Performed by A.R. Rahman himself alongside S. P. Balasubrahmanyam and Swarnalatha, the song features lively beats and catchy melodies that perfectly capture the essence of youthful exuberance and romance. It’s such a classic.

  5. Jai Ho- His most famous song worldwide, this electrifying anthem gained international fame as part of the soundtrack for the 2008 film Slumdog Millionaire. Composed by A.R. Rahman and performed by Sukhwinder Singh, Tanvi Shah, Mahalaxmi Iyer, and Vijay Prakash, “Jai Ho” won an Academy Award for Best Original Song. It also has a second version featuring the American girl group The Pussycat Dolls.
