Dubai is gearing up to host the Basketball Champions League Asia 2025, marking the second year in a row that the city welcomes Asia’s top club teams. The tournament tips off on June 7, and this year’s edition promises high-energy matchups, passionate fans, and a showcase of East meets West talent.

The early rounds will take place at the Sheikh Saeed Bin Maktoum Sports Hall, while the final showdown is set for the iconic Coca-Cola Arena, home of Dubai Basketball. That’s where we’ll find out who takes the crown on June 13.

Confirmed teams include champions from China, Korea, the Philippines, and Lebanon, with a few final spots still up for grabs. Last year, Al Riyadi of Beirut took home the title, beating local favorites Shabab Al Ahli.

What’s exciting is how basketball is catching fire in the UAE. The arrival of Dubai Basketball, the emirate’s franchise team now competing in the European ABA League, has ignited fan interest. While they can’t compete in the BCL Asia just yet, they’ve got their eyes on the EuroLeague — and guess what? That final is also coming to the UAE this year, in Abu Dhabi.

From hosting regional championships to dreaming of European glory, Dubai is clearly making its mark on the global basketball map.
