1. Proof of Identity
The Emirates ID serves as proof of identity for government services, protecting against fraud and identity theft. Entities such as the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Dubai Municipality, and Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) require the Emirates ID for most services. For example, RTA kiosks across Dubai allow you to renew your driver’s license, vehicle registration, and make traffic fine payments using your Emirates ID.

2. Withdrawing Money from an ATM
Several banks in the UAE allow customers to withdraw money using their Emirates ID. For example, Emirates NBD customers can withdraw cash by using their EID along with the Emirates NBD mobile app to generate a code for the ATM.

Mashreq Bank customers can use their Emirates ID to open accounts, pay bills, update personal information, and withdraw or deposit cash. At Mashreq ATMs, customers can select from various options, including cash withdrawals, transfers, and chequebook requests, by showing their Emirates ID.

3. Paying for Fuel
To pay for fuel using your Emirates ID, download the ADNOC Wallet app. Link your Emirates ID to the app and add money to your account. At ADNOC petrol stations, insert your EID into the card payment slot and follow the on-screen instructions. You can also use your EID for payments at ADNOC Oasis convenience stores and car washes if you have an ADNOC Wallet.

4. Health Insurance Card
Your Emirates ID can serve as a substitute if you forget your health insurance card. Medical service providers can use your EID to process medical insurance claims. Insurance companies have integrated customer details into databases, enabling hospitals and clinics to process them via the Emirates ID, thus improving accuracy and saving time for all parties involved.

5. Airport and Travelling
Smart gates at airports like DXB and Abu Dhabi International use facial recognition technology for border control. To use your Emirates ID at these gates, swipe your card and look into the green light. Remove glasses, hats, and face masks before passing through. The system matches your face with immigration database records, identifying you as a UAE National, GCC National, UAE resident, or visa-on-arrival guest.

Make sure to avoid violations or else they can cost you up to 20,000 Dhs fine.
