To commemorate 20 years of flying to India, Etihad Airways will introduce its iconic Airbus A380 on the Abu Dhabi to Mumbai route for a limited time, starting from September 1, 2024. The double-decker aircraft will operate three weekly flights between Abu Dhabi (AUH) and Mumbai (BOM) until December 31, 2024, enhancing the travel experience on this popular route.

Since launching its first flight to Mumbai on September 26, 2004, Etihad has expanded its network to offer nonstop services between Abu Dhabi and 11 cities across India, with further growth planned.

To mark two decades of service to Mumbai and India, Etihad’s Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, Arik De, expressed excitement about introducing the A380 on this route, stating, “To kick off our celebrations for 20 years of service to Mumbai and India, we are thrilled to introduce our A380 on the Mumbai route. While this iconic aircraft is typically reserved for long-haul journeys, for our 20 years of celebrations of flying to India, we will showcase the A380 on three-days a week for a period of four months.”

Economy passengers can anticipate a more comfortable journey, with 68 Economy Extra legroom seats providing an additional four inches of space, complemented by 337 Economy Smart Seats featuring innovative fixed-wing headrests and large pillows. On the upper deck, the plane offers 70 private suites, each thoughtfully and equipped with Wi-Fi connectivity. The journey is further enhanced by The Lobby lounge area, which provides a sophisticated and productive space for passengers.

For those seeking ultimate luxury, the First Apartments on the A380 are a highlight, offering nine private suites complete with designer tableware, plush leather seating, and a spacious ottoman that converts into a bed.

By early 2025, Etihad Airways will have its sixth A380 in operation, further expanding its premium travel offerings. The Mumbai A380 flights are scheduled to run from September 1 to December 31, 2024.
