Indian Athletes shine brighter than “La Ville Lumiere” during the Paris Paralympics 2024

Indian athletes outshone the “City of Light” at the Paris 2024 Paralympics, making history with a 29-medal haul—surpassing the nation’s previous best of 19 medals at Tokyo 2020. India clinched seven gold, nine silver, and 13 bronze medals, crossing the milestone of 50 medals in Paralympic history.
 
Among the shining performances was Avani Lekhara, who became the first Indian woman to win two Paralympic gold medals, setting a world record in the women’s 10m air rifle standing SH1. Sumit Antil also defended his javelin title, breaking the Games record with a throw of 68.55m in the men’s javelin F64 event, cementing India’s impressive showing.
