No More Long-Distance Sharing for Netflix

Netflix that provides multiple TV shows and movies to watch from has introduced ‘One Single Household Policy’ © Online
Netflix has finally enforced its password-sharing restrictions in the UAE, ending a long-discussed feature. Netflix account holders can no longer share their passwords with their friends and family members sitting miles away from them.

Netflix accounts can only be used by users living under one roof now, or as Netflix calls it “one single household”. Users can only access the account while they are in the house. The company has announced strict regulations to keep the users in check.

Albeit many countries already have faced the restriction like in India, it just started in UAE today, as I went to watch my favourite show, only to be logged out since I don’t share Wi-Fi with my best friend (never happened before). Netflix will verify a home device by verification code and that the device must connect to the home Wi-Fi network at least once in a month, so if you are sharing Netflix with a buddy like I am, it would be nice to pay them a visit at their place, to fix your account (and to meet them of course).

For those traveling or on the go, Netflix offers a ‘Watch Temporarily’ option. This feature sends a code to the registered email account, which can be entered to gain temporary access to Netflix. This ensures that even when you’re away from home, you can still enjoy your favorite shows and movies.
