Dubai has just opened the world’s largest visa application centre at Wafi City, setting a new global benchmark in visa processing services.
Spanning a massive 150,000 square feet, the new VFS Global centre can handle up to 10,000 visa applications per day, the highest capacity of any centre worldwide. This milestone enhances accessibility and reinforces Dubai’s reputation as a top-tier global hub.
“Facilitating visa access plays a vital role in attracting talent, boosting tourism, and expanding international partnerships—all critical to Dubai’s future-ready strategy,” said Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism.
The centre is staffed by more than 400 trained professionals from over 25 nationalities, ensuring a seamless experience for applicants from around the world.
Smart features and conveniences include:
- Self-service kiosks, secure lockers, photo booths, and photocopy stations
- Touchscreen info kiosks and QR code check-ins for smoother visitor flow
- Tablet-equipped staff and volunteers assisting with forms and navigation
- Fast-track lanes for seniors, families, and people of determination
This new facility is a major step in Dubai’s ongoing effort to streamline travel and business access, cementing its status as a city of the future.
