The Abu Dhabi Housing Authority (ADHA) has announced new housing support initiatives for Emirati families, including annual financial assistance, partial loan deductions, and extended repayment periods. These measures will be accessible through the Medeem Digital Platform, with applications starting in September 2024.

Newlywed Emiratis will receive 75,000Dhs  annually for two years to assist with renting a home and can be renewed for up to four years. To qualify, applicants must have a monthly income below 50,000Dhs and must have applied for permanent housing benefits from ADHA, such as a housing grant, home purchase loan, land, or housing construction loan.

Additionally, they must not own any real estate. The rental assistance is available for leased properties within Abu Dhabi, including Al Ain and Al Dhafra Region, and is subject to incentives related to childbearing during the rental period.

Emirati nationals with a fourth, fifth, or sixth child can benefit from partial deductions on approved housing loans. The deductions are 30,000Dhs for the fourth and fifth child, and Dh40,000 for the sixth child. These deductions apply to loans for house construction, purchase, or demolition and reconstruction. The partial deduction is available for those with a monthly income between 21,000Dhs and 50,000Dhs.

They can also extend their housing loan repayment period, reducing their monthly instalments. For those with a newborn fourth, fifth, or sixth child, the repayment period can be extended by an additional three years for each new child. This extension applies to house construction, purchase, and demolition and reconstruction loans, and is available to applicants with a monthly income exceeding 50,000Dhs.

Hamad Hareb Al Muhairi, Director General of ADHA, said, “By supporting these initiatives, we strive to encourage Emirati citizens to marry, have children, and establish cohesive families, all of which contribute to the prosperity of the society.”
