The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has officially launched its Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2030, aiming to transform the emirate’s transport landscape and significantly enhance the quality of urban mobility. Announced during Dubai AI Week 2025, the comprehensive plan includes 81 projects and initiatives to be implemented between 2025 and 2030.
A key objective of the strategy is to reduce citywide travel time by 20 to 30 percent. Additional goals include boosting productivity by 25 to 40 percent, reducing operational costs by 10 to 20 percent, and increasing customer satisfaction by up to 35 percent.
“By analysing live and historical data, the AI system will predict traffic flow, simulate real-time scenarios, dynamically adjust signal timing, and reduce waiting times,” the RTA stated.
The strategy is built upon six strategic pillars: people happiness, seamless and innovative mobility, intelligent traffic management, cognitive licensing, a future-ready organization, and asset excellence. Through the integration of AI technologies, RTA aims to establish an interconnected, intelligent mobility ecosystem that improves efficiency, sustainability, and public satisfaction.
