BurJuman Mall in Dubai has officially launched its new Smart Parking System, designed to offer a smoother, more efficient arrival experience for visitors. Using Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology, the ticketless system enables paperless, touchless entry and exit, enhancing convenience and reducing congestion. This move aligns BurJuman with other major malls like Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates that have adopted similar systems.
Visitors will now enjoy three hours of free parking daily, with VOX Cinema guests receiving an additional three-hour grace period upon validation. Parking is also free on Sundays and public holidays. However, a set of new rules and penalties has been introduced to manage the upgraded system effectively.
New Parking Rules:
- Vehicles must exit within 15 minutes of payment/validation.
- Re-entry is only allowed after 6 hours from the time of exit.
- Each additional hour after the free period is charged at Dh20/hour.
- Payments can be made by card or cash at kiosks, but only card payments are accepted at exits.
- The system does not provide payment reminders—validation is the customer’s responsibility.
- Parking is for mall customers only; private buses are not permitted.
Penalties:
- Overnight parking now incurs a fine of Dh350 per day, up from Dh250.
- Improper parking or misuse of the facility can lead to a Dh250 fine, and vehicles may be towed at the owner’s risk and expense.
- The Dh200 penalty for lost tickets has been removed due to the paperless system.
In addition, the mall has upgraded signage and navigation, with designated parking spots for People of Determination and families, ensuring greater accessibility. BurJuman says the changes reflect its ongoing efforts to modernize customer experiences and support Dubai’s vision for smart infrastructure and innovative retail environments.
