In line with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, Dubai Police has unveiled a new operational strategy that categorizes the emirate into distinct “urban” and “rural” zones. This strategic move aims to enhance security coverage, reduce emergency response times, and optimize the allocation of human resources, patrols, and advanced technologies—including AI—throughout the emirate.
The announcement was made during the General Department of Operations’ first-quarter performance review, chaired by Expert Major General Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Investigations, and attended by senior police officials.
Major General Al Mansouri highlighted the vital role of the Operations Department in ensuring public safety and facilitating rapid deployment of emergency teams. He emphasized that this zoning approach supports Dubai’s urban development objectives while elevating the force’s operational readiness.
By distinguishing regions as urban or rural, Dubai Police can now tailor resource distribution to each area’s unique needs, whether related to crime prevention, traffic management, or community services. Brigadier Turki bin Faris added that this model will significantly improve efficiency, bolster emergency response capabilities, and foster innovation in policing. The strategy aligns with the goal of positioning Dubai as one of the world’s safest cities while enhancing overall community well-being.
