Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has rolled out major updates to 14 bus routes across the city, which came into effect on Friday, May 2. These changes are designed to enhance commuter convenience, improve route efficiency, and strengthen connections between key areas and public transport hubs.
One of the major highlights is the introduction of a new intercity route, E308, operating between the newly launched Stadium Bus Station in Dubai and Al Jubail Bus Station in Sharjah. This route offers commuters an affordable travel option at just Dhs12 per one-way ticket.
Additional changes to Dubai’s internal routes include:
- Route 17 now terminates at Baniyas Square Metro Station instead of Al Sabkha Bus Station.
- Route 24 has been re-routed within the Al Nahda 1 area.
- Route 44 now passes via Al Rebat Street to serve Dubai Festival City.
- Route 56 has been extended to reach DWC Staff Village.
- Routes 66 and 67 will now serve the Al Ruwayah Farm area.
- Route 32C will have reduced trips between Al Jafiliya and Al Satwa; commuters can use Route F27 as an alternative.
- Route C26’s bus stop has been moved to Max Metro Land Side Bus Stop 2.
- Route E16 now ends at Union Bus Station instead of Al Sabkha.
- Route F12 will no longer serve the stretch between Al Satwa Roundabout and Al Wasl Park and is re-routed via Kuwait Street.
- Route F27’s stop is relocated to Max Metro Land Side Bus Stop 2.
- Route F47 has been re-routed within the Jebel Ali Industrial Area.
- Route F54 has been extended to serve the JAFZA South labour camp.
- Route X92’s stop has been moved to Max Metro Land Side Bus Stop 1.
Adel Shakeri, RTA’s Director of Planning and Business Development, said the changes are part of RTA’s strategy to expand the public transport network and strengthen links between different modes of transit, encouraging more people to use public transport across the emirate.
