50% tuition discount has been approved for students enrolled at Al Dhaid University who do not qualify for scholarships. The discount is being offered to celebrate the university’s first academic year, which begins in September 2024.
The announcement was made by His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah during the “Direct Line” programme on Sharjah Radio and Television.
Al Dhaid University was established earlier this year after the Emiri Decree No. 15 of 2024 was signed by Dr Sheikh Sultan on 26th April 2024. The university is a non-profit scientific institution in the Arab region specialising in agriculture, environment, food, and livestock, with various facilities and projects to support its scientific mission and achieve its goals, including the wheat farm, the Saba Sanabel project, the vegetable farm, the dairy farm, the seed bank, and other facilities, centres, laboratories, and projects.
Dr Sheikh Sultan also appointed Dr Aisha Ahmed Mohammed Abu Shlaibi as Chancellor of the Al Dhaid University and Dr Melissa Fitzgerald as the Dean of the College of Agriculture at the Al Dhaid University.
He had also explained that the Al Dhaid University would stand out based on its faculties, areas of study, and the educational and practical opportunities it offers to its students in their chosen fields, equipping them with comprehensive hands-on experience upon graduation.
