Women’s Sports Tournament to begin on 16th October

Under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, wife of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, the Dubai Sports Council has approved the competition schedule for the 12th  edition of the Sheikha Hind Women’s Sports Tournament, an annual sports festival for women in the UAE.

The 12th  edition will take place from 16th  to 30th October, 2024, featuring eight different sports, including bowling, running, padel, badminton, cycling, shooting, and hurdles. This year, the tournament also introduces a 3×3 basketball competition.

Registration for teams and players will open on 3rd September and close on 4th October. Participants can register through the tournament’s website by creating an account and uploading the necessary documents.
 
The Organising Committee has arranged training sessions for participants in shooting, padel, and obstacle courses. Shooting training will be available at the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Center, padel training at the Just Padel Club in Port Rashid, and obstacle course training at the BIA Warrior Club in Al Quoz.
 
The 12th annual tournament will kick off with the bowling competition at the Dubai International Bowling Centre in Al Mamzar on 16th October. This will be followed by the running race at Expo City Dubai on 17th October. The Padel tournament will be held at the Just Padel Club from October 18 to 20. The badminton tournament is scheduled at Al Nasr Sports Club from 21st  to 24th October, with the cycling race taking place at Expo City Dubai on Friday, October 25.
 
The shooting championship will be hosted at the Fazza Shooting Range on Saturday,  26th October, and the obstacle course competition will occur at the Gravity Gym on Sunday, 27th October . The tournament will conclude with the first-ever 3×3 basketball championship at Al Nasr Sports Club from 28th  to 30th October.
 
The Organising Committee encourages widespread participation in this annual event, inviting women from government, semi-government, and private sector institutions to compete, alongside female citizens and residents, to register and begin preparing for this exclusive sports festival.
